Amid the pomp and circumstance that took place when the Democrats took control of Congress last week, I kept hearing of the sweeping bills that would take place during the “first 100 legislative hours.” As of today I had not heard the details aside from the anticipated bickering over Iraq, stem cells and vetoes.

Apparently keeping with the schedule Republicans held and ignoring the 5-day work week, Congress took today off.

… Democrats pushed back until this week the start of votes on their much ballyhooed agenda. And everyone got Monday off for the college football championship game between Ohio State and the University of Florida.

So I wondered, other than the teams and fans who could get tickets, who else took the day off? I know the idea has been floated to make the Monday after the Superbowl a national holiday, there is even an online petition, but is this to be BCS Monday for Congressmen?
